Consecration Anointing Oil is used in prayer for dedication, setting apart and living a life devoted to God’s purposes. “You anoint my head with oil…” (Psalm 23:5)

From quality spices, Moses was instructed by God to make a Holy Anointing Oil. With it, he was to anoint and consecrate the tabernacle of meeting, the ark of the Testimony, the table and lampstand with all their utensils, the altar of incense and burnt offering with all its utensils, and the laver and its base.

The Holy Anointing Oil was also used to consecrate the priests for ministering unto the Lord. Prophetically, myrrh represents the death of Jesus, cinnamon His holiness, calamus speaks of the redemptive price that Jesus paid, and cassia reveals His willingness to be humbled and stripped of His Deity to become man.

All these precious spices are bound together by olive oil, which represents the Holy Spirit. Exodus 30:21–25 “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people…” 1 Peter 2:9
