Elijah Anointing Oil is used in prayer for bold faith, spiritual authority, miracles and a double portion of God’s Spirit. Elijah’s name means “Yahweh is my God.” He was a major prophet in the Northern Kingdom of Israel during the reign of Ahab, when Baal worship was widespread.

He was a man of great faith and bold zeal for God. God used him to confront evil and to defend true worship. His life was marked by many challenges, miracles and powerful acts of God, including raising the dead (1 Kings 17:17–24), calling fire down from heaven (1 Kings 18), declaring that it would not rain for three years (1 Kings 17:1), and being taken up into heaven in a whirlwind of fire (2 Kings 2:11–12). He also appeared at the transfiguration of Jesus (Matthew 17:3).

His life symbolised the power and authority seen in Jesus Christ. Elijah appointed Elisha as his successor and said, “Ask what I shall do for you before I am taken from you.” Elisha answered, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.” (2 Kings 2:9) Elijah Anointing Oil speaks of a miraculous anointing, dominion authority and a double portion of God’s Spirit upon your life.
