You anoint my head with oil . . .Psalm 23:5 From quality spices, Moses was instructed by God to make a Holy Anointing Oil. With it he had to anoint and consecrate the tabernacle of meeting, the ark of the Testimony, the table and lampstand with all their utensils, the altar of incense and of burnt offering with all its utensils, and the laver and its base.
The Holy Anointing Oil was also used to consecrate the priests for ministering unto the Lord. Prophetically, Myrrh represents the death of Jesus, Cinnamon, His holiness. Calamus speaks of the redemptive price that Jesus paid and Cassia reveals Jesus’s willingness to be humbled and stripped of His Deity to became man.
All these precious spices are bound together by Olive Oil which represents the Holy Spirit. Exodus 30:21-25 “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, …”
1 Peter 2:9 This Oil is to be reserved for consecration, setting apart of someone or something unto God, for His use and purposes.
